The major feature of Expanded Metal is that the mesh is formed from a single piece of steel. The process is not wasteful, this gives you cost savings, especially compared to other metal processing methods. The option of Galvanising and polyester powder coating ensures a smooth finish to the mesh. Therefore no sharp edges arise from the production process.

LW denotes long way of mesh dimension.
SW denotes short way of mesh dimensions.
All sheets are measured in the same way by taking one individual segment or diamond of the mesh and measuring the following parameters: The thickness of the strand, the width of the strand, Long Way of the diamond and the Short Way of the diamond. These are the basic terms used to describe expanded metal mesh. For conventional meshes with angle strands, dimensions from centre to centre of knuckles make up part of the reference as shown in the diagram e.g. 4095 mesh type.
All of the individual shapes come together to make a sheet of mesh, which consists of uniform diamonds / shapes. Fencing mesh panels are generally 3.15m wide by 1.8m high or 2.4m high as standard, however a full range of heights can be manufactured.
We offer free advice on the choice of fencing mesh suitable for any specific application.
